Shown here are equivalent file sizes for ProTaper NEXT and ProTaper Universal.
- Both share the same shaper file: SX.
- The reduced tip and taper of ProTaper NEXT allow for a more conservative apical prep than that of ProTaper Universal.
- The result is greater efficiency. ProTaper NEXT rotary files allow you to use fewer files than ProTaper Universal.
Unlike constant-tapered standard ISO files, ProTaper NEXT and ProTaper Universal files both feature a variable taper.
